- I am currently living in Seoul since September 2007, teaching English at Kyungwon University and Cinema Studies at Korea National University of Art. I have recently completed my PhD dissertation on filmmaker Martin Scorsese, titled "Martin Scorsese and Film Culture: Radically Contextualizing the Contemporary Auteur." I worked in the Film Studies department at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada from 2003-2007 and have published pieces in the CANADIAN JOURNAL OF FILM STUDIES, FILM CRITICISM, and SENSES OF CINEMA. I am currently the contributing editor on Film for the website The One One Four.

Directions
Seoul Cinematheque and Film Forum: located near exit 5 of the subway sub Chongno-3(sam)-ga, which is located on lines number 1, 3 and 5, although access is quicker from line 5. It is not the easiest place to find, but if you keep straight after coming up the stairs of exit 5 and go under the overpass you should see film posters on your left. Go into the building and up to the 4th floor. You should see the box office outside.
Cinecube: located at the Gwanghwamun subway stop, line 5, exit 6.
Dongseung Cinematheque: located at Hyehwa Station (line #4); take exit 1, and walk towards Hyehwa Rotary (should be 2 minute walk).
Korea Foundation Cultural Center: City Hall subway stop, exit 9.
Cinecube: located at the Gwanghwamun subway stop, line 5, exit 6.

the opening sequence of the mother dancing is really the only thing i took away from the film
everything was kind of a let down after that one glorious shot
