Just thought I'd pass along a few pieces of information about the Jeonju Film Festival, which will be held April 30th-May 8th. I can't say enough good things about this festival and highly recommend people check it out. A full schedule is to be released at the end of March, but some things have been announced:
-a retrospective on Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski, who will also appear at the festival in person
-a program on Sri Lankan cinema
-especially exciting for me personally, a Critics masterclass featuring Raymond Bellour, Richard Porton, and Adrian Martin. They will introduce filmmakers and films they selected and give lectures on Film Criticism in JIFF’s Masterclass on the 5th and 6th of May during the festival.

did you get a press pass by any chance when you went last year?
No, I didn't, and haven't looked into it. I don't think they issue them for websites, but you never know. Let me know if you find out anything, and vice versa.
you're right - they don't issue them for websites. i glanced at the program and so far 'barking dogs never bite' 'the housemaid' 'tokyo!' 'opem mouth' and hong sang soo's short caught my eye. let me know what you think is worth checking out. have you seen anything by Jerzy Skolimowski?
I haven't seen any Skolimowski but I'm looking forward to DEEP END and MOONLIGHTING. A few others I'm thinking of checking out:

do i have to worry about screenings being sold out like at PIFF? are you reserving tix online? if so, how? hopefully, i'll be there from Saturday to Tuesday...
Yes, you do need to book on-line, at least it's easier that way. You can get same day tickets if you go to the box office early. I've booked most of my films already. I actually have an extra ticket for the Korean film MY WIFE GOT MARRIED on Sunday, 5:30 if you're interested. Most films on Sat and Sun are booked on-line by now, but you may have luck for Monday or Tuesday. Anyways, send me an email and we can discuss it: mraymond_1918@yahoo.co.uk
