In less than three weeks the Puchon film festival begins, running from July 18th to 27th. The festival focuses on genre films, and there are a number of exciting programs, including a section of the Nikkatsu studio of Japan as well as a Gregg Araki retrospective. The schedule of films can be viewed
here. Unfortunately, I will be back in Canada in a couple of weeks and will miss the festival, so I won't be able to give any reports.
Thanks so much for this blog. It helps me immensely.
ReplyDeleteI am so fired up for the festival's screening of "The Housemaid"!
Thanks, and yes, that is one of the films I'm going to really miss seeing. I haven't seen any Kim Ki-young films but have been reading about him recently. There's a book on him published by the Korean Film Council.
